Since 2002,
DME, takes mileage from control panel, and counts only to the larger side, Some
DMEs also stores information about the last 5-6 oil changes.
BMW
Explorer can reset the mileage in BOSCH and Siemens control units via the
OBD-II.
Connect to
the control unit, in the upper left corner will be displayed;
1. Mileage
in DME
2. Mileage
in DTC
3. Mileage
in AIF
The most important thing!! Do not
reset the mileage while ENGINE RUNNING unless it is requested by Explorer !!!
Reset on running engine is only possible for DDE / DME !!!
EGS, LMV, VGSG, DSC, FRM, JBBF most
possible can be DAMAGED !!!!
1.
Resetting mileage in DME
Press "Reset
mileage" button, Explorer will ask you to start the engine, then ask you
to stop the engine and turn off the ignition for 10 seconds. Switch off the
ignition, wait 10 seconds, switch the ignition ON and press OK. Mileage
displayed in the upper left window should be the same as on the instrument
cluster or even less.
Note: If
mileage is not reset by the first try, repeat this operation again!
Not of all
versions of the DDE / DME are currently supported, supported percentage of te E series is approximately 60-70%, and about 50% for the F series models.
Mileage
reset in the battery replacement log of DDE / DME is not supported, before
resetting, go to "Extra options" and then press "
If there is
mileage value in the battery replacement log is bigger than you need, this DME
can be adjusted by programmer only.
One more
way to make mileage reset in the battery registration log is:
E-series
1. Make the
battery registration, drive 16 km, repeat battery replacement registration, and
so on all of the 6 times.
F series have only 2 last registrations, you can make a
registration with a new mileage then drive another 16 km and make the last
registration.
On some DDE
of E and F series, the reset of the mileage in the successful DPF regeneration
log is not supported and can be done
only with programmer or ECU-Explorer. Mileage in "CBS motoroil"
menu for F-series must be adjusted using the programmer.
Note for Bosch
control units (ME9E65, ME9N45, ME9N62, ME9N62_2, N62_TUE, N62_TUE2, N73,
N73TUE) from 2001 to 2009. If the mileage
is not possible to reset, you need to read the RAM and e-mail us altogether with the logs. We will add this DME
to the next version of BMW-Explorer as soon as possible, or (and) send you
utility to reset the mileage
2. Reset
mileage in DTC log
Simply
reset the mileage in DTC log using the "Erase saved errors" button.
If the stored
errors are not erased then it is necessary to reset DME and try to erase DTC
again, For F-series Siemens MSV90 MSD85 sometimes it is necessary to remove the
battery terminal for 5 minutes.
3. Mileage
in AIF
Mileage
adjustment in AIF is not supported for
all DMEs, cause it is sometimes stored in FLASH and can only be rewritten by
programmer.
In some BOSCH
made DMEs there is an opportunity to add AIF to a new location with a new
mileage!
And also
two more options:
Option
"A" - read the FLASH programmer and fix it manually.
Option
"B" - to update ECU firmware again using SSS / iSSS
(Software Service Station), the data in FLASH will be updated, and the new AIF
will also be written.
VERY IMPORTANT!!!! Do not
remove the battery terminal and do not reset DME until the car goes to sleep,
THE CAR MUST GO SLEEP, the SLEEP command does not help!!! WARNING FOR THE TOTAL
IDIOTS!!!! Do not remove the battery terminal and do not reset the unit until
the car GONE SLEEP !!!! The SLEEP command does not help in this !!!!
